How do I reset network settings on my iPhone?

Reset Network Settings on an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch can be used to resolve Wi-Fi, cellular and bluetooth connection issues that affect internet and connected accessories such as AirPods, Apple Watch or CarPlay.

By doing so, it clears any customized settings you may have made, such as Wi-Fi passwords, VPN configurations, and cellular preferences. Resetting network settings can be helpful in resolving various connectivity issues, such as Wi-Fi or cellular network problems, Bluetooth pairing difficulties, or issues with VPN connections. It essentially wipes out any network-related settings that may have become corrupted or misconfigured, providing a clean slate for you to start fresh. After performing this reset, you will need to re-enter Wi-Fi passwords and set up any customized network preferences again.

Why perform a network reset on an iPhone?

Performing a network reset on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch can be a helpful troubleshooting step in various situations. Here are several reasons why you might consider performing a network reset on your iOS device:

  1. Resolving Network Connectivity Issues: If you are experiencing persistent issues with your Wi-Fi or cellular connection, such as slow speeds, frequent disconnections, or difficulty connecting to networks, resetting network settings can often help. It clears out any corrupted network configurations and restores the default settings, which can resolve many common connectivity problems.
  2. Fixing Bluetooth Pairing Problems: If you’re encountering difficulties pairing your iOS device with Bluetooth accessories, resetting the network settings may help. It can address issues where Bluetooth connections are unstable, devices are not recognized, or pairing fails repeatedly.
  3. Correcting VPN Configuration Problems: If you use a Virtual Private Network (VPN) on your device and are having trouble connecting or experiencing unusual behavior, resetting network settings can help. It eliminates any conflicting VPN configurations or corrupted settings that may be causing the issue, allowing you to set up the VPN connection again from scratch.
  4. Resolving Software Glitches: In some cases, certain software updates or changes in settings can result in glitches or conflicts within the network configurations. Resetting network settings can effectively resolve these glitches, ensuring a fresh start for the network-related components of your device.
  5. Clearing Cache and Temporary Network Data: Resetting network settings can also clear the cache and temporary data associated with network connections on your device. This can help improve the overall performance of your network connections and address any issues caused by accumulated cache or temporary files.
  6. Preparing for a Fresh Network Setup: If you’re planning to set up your device on a new network or in a different location, performing a network reset beforehand can be beneficial. It allows you to start with a clean slate, ensuring that your device is not carrying over any incompatible or outdated network settings from previous connections.

It’s important to note that resetting network settings on your iOS device will remove all saved Wi-Fi passwords, VPN configurations, and cellular settings. Therefore, it’s essential to make a note of any important network information, such as Wi-Fi passwords, before performing the reset. After resetting network settings, you will need to re-enter Wi-Fi passwords, set up VPN connections, and customize cellular preferences again.

Overall, performing a network reset on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch can help address a range of network-related issues, improve connectivity stability, and ensure a clean setup for new network configurations.

I needed to get my cracked displayed repaired on my MacBook. This was my experience with the Apple Store in Cherry Creek: - First go to the store for a diagnostic appointment where they confirmed that my screen was indeed cracked - They order the part and set up an appointment for me to come drop my computer off 5 days later. - Despite having an appointment, I waited over an hour and had to leave due to restraints. They then released the part and I had to start the process over again with a new diagnostic appointment (as if my screen wasn't still broken) With Denver Mac Repair: - Dropped it off at 5:30PM Friday afternoon - Was ready for pickup Monday at 3pm Not to mention they were ~$70 cheaper than Apple. These guys are legends, support local and go here.

Truly Exceptional Service After more than six years, I finally got my MacBook Pro back to life—and I couldn’t be more grateful to Denver Mac Repair. The staff was absolutely awesome: knowledgeable, skilled, professional, honest, and genuinely caring. In a world where people with true expertise and integrity can feel increasingly rare, these guys reminded me that they still exist. They didn’t just repair my computer—they woke it back up after six years and brought back something I had almost given up on. That meant a lot to me. Thank you, Denver Mac Repair, for your incredible work and for treating me with such honesty and professionalism. You guys are truly the best, and I highly recommend you to anyone who needs Mac repair!

All I can say is wow! My son accidentally dropped his iPhone in a river while on a backpacking trip. Turns out his iCloud backup had not been set up properly, and three years of pictures had been potentially lost. The guys at Denver Mac Repair got everything up and running and transferred to a new phone. These guys are awesome, knowledgeable, professional, and their pricing was very fair. Thank you!

Incredible neighborhood computer store. My dad worked with one company for my whole childhood, and i spent a LOT of time with him have only found big box stores since, so i've been looking for a space that is as supportive as that business from my childhood....and I found it here! Great technicians, who share information freely and without arrogance, great prices and better location. Love this store

I had a great experience, I dropped my iPhone in the hotel pool and it wouldn't turn back on. My cloud storage was full and Mac said they could do nothing about my files. I took my phone to Denver Mac and Christopher said they'd try to get the data off for me, he seemed very positive even said it worked 90% of the time. Two days later I got a call from AJ and he had all my family's vacation photos on a thumb stick and back to me before our flight. Christopher and AJ were both friendly and awesome! I don't know if I'll be back to Denver but if anyone is headed that way with an iPhone Denver Mac is the place.

Super impressed! My son lost some keys on his Mac book. Apple quoted us $800 and weren’t sure they could even be fixed. Denver Mac repair had it done within hours and we only paid $35. Will definitely be back!
